Once you add a trade to your trades list, it is extremely important to edit the trade so Investigator knows what day you entered the trade, what price you paid for the trade, and how many shares you purchased.
Trades can be edited by selecting Edit from the Trades menu.
The Edit Trades dialog box appears with a list of trades currently on your trades list. Select the trade you wish to edit and click the OK button. You can optionally double-click on the trade.
The Trades Edit dialog box appears. In this box, you can change the entry date, the entry price, and the number of shares associated with the trade. If no system is associated with the trade, you can also decide if you want Investigator to calculate the profitability of the trade based on a long or short trade.
You can also change the system associated with the trade by clicking on the system in the Associated System list box. This is useful if you entered the trade without an entry condition specified in your system library, but you want Investigator to monitor the trade for stop and exit conditions based on some system in your library.
If you forget the various indicators that make up a system, you can click on it in the Associated System list box and then click the Recall Pattern button.
