Exchanging allows you to give the bar patterns, designer indicators, and systems you’ve created to other users. To give these items, select Exchange from the Special menu, Give from the Exchange menu, and either Bar Pattern, Indicator, or System from the Give menu.
A dialog box will appear asking you which bar pattern, designer indicator, or system you wish to exchange. Select the bar pattern, designer indicator, or system you wish to give and click OK.
Next, a dialog box will appear asking you where you want to put your bar pattern, designer indicator, or system. This can be any directory on your system.
The current directory is specified towards the top of the dialog box. To specify a different directory, first make sure the correct hard drive is selected. If not, click on the proper hard drive in the Drives: box on the left and click the Change Drive Button. (You can also double-click on the desired drive.)
Next make sure the proper directory is selected by changing into it. Again, the current directory is shown towards the top of the dialog box. You can change into different directories by clicking on the directory you wish to change into and then clicking the Change Directory button. (You can also double-click on the directory.)
Note: The directory “..” refers to the directory directly above the current directory.
Once you’ve changed into the directory you wish, click OK.
The directory you’ve exchanged to now contains all of the necessary bar patterns, designer indicators, or systems that you’ve shared. Copy everything in this directory to a disk and let another Investigator user copy the items onto his or her hard disk, so he or she can take these items. You can also email everything in the directory to the user, or you can transfer this directory over the Internet.
