Historical Test Results

At the end of a test run, the historical test results dialog box appears showing you statistical results. You can also later see this dialog box by selecting Historical Test Results from the Systems menu and Last from the Historical Test Results menu.


This dialog box give you the following information:


The date the system was tested on.


How long it took to test the system.


The number of systems that were found.


The number of systems that were profitable.


The percent of systems that were profitable.


The average profit for the trade.


The average loss for the trade.


The best trade’s percent return.


The worst trade’s percent loss.


The initial capital you started testing with (if you were not testing futures).


The amount of money your account has after testing (if you were not testing futures).


The total commissions for the trade (if you were not testing futures).


The maximum downdraw during testing (if you were not testing futures).


The number of systems returning the risk you entered in the Test Parameters dialog box.


The percent of systems returning the risk you entered in the Test Parameters dialog box.


The number of bars in the longest winning trade.


The number of bars in the longest losing trade.


The number of back to back trades that were profitable.


The number of back to back trades that were losses.


The average number of bars in a profitable trade.


The average number of bars in a unprofitable trade.


If you forget the various indicators that make up the system, you can click on the Recall Pattern button.


Finally, you can print the results by clicking on the Print button. A print dialog box will appear asking you to confirm the number of copies, etc. Click OK and the results will print, along with the listing of the various indicators that make up the system.


When you click the OK button, you will progress to the Add System dialog box.
