You can change the default values of an indicator by right clicking in a window that contains the indicator. For example, if the indicator appears in its own window, such as stochastics or on-balance volume, you would right click in the window that shows the indicator. If the indicator appears in the bar chart window, such as the Gann Trend Indicator or moving averages, you would right click on the bar chart and then select the indicator you wish to change from the dialog box that appears on your screen.
Each indicator comes with different set of defaults that you can change. Most include a combination box that will allow you to change the color of the indicator and most contain an edit box that allows you to change the number of periods for the indicator.
Each indicator defaults dialog box also allows you to change the values that appear when you click on an item in the indicator’s historical testing dialog box. If, for example, an indicator has a default value of 10 periods for divergence and you prefer a divergence value of 5 for testing purposes, you can change the value in the indicator’s defaults dialog box and the value of 5 will appear every time you click on the divergence checkbox for the indicator.
