New Low Testing Dialog Box

Many investors believe that when a financial instrument makes a new low, it will continue to make more new lows; however, some investors feel that once a new low is made, a buying opportunity is presented. Investigator lets you test both theories.

First, select the time period.

If you select the all bars option, Investigator will search for a new low within the past Within: value over all of the data in the file; otherwise, Investigator will search for the new low over the Over Past: value. For example, if you entered 5 in the Within: edit box and 200 in the Over Past: box, you’re telling Investigator check when the lowest low occurred over the past 200 bars. If it occurred during the past five bars, then this condition would be true.
