Specific Day Testing Dialog Box

Some investors, particularly commodity traders, believe that you should enter a trade at the open of a particular weekday or exit a trade at the close of a particular weekday. For example, some traders feel you should exit trades at the close on Friday. Investigator will use the actual opening or closing price for the trade, but please keep in mind that in actual trading you will most likely not get the actual opening or closing price of the trade. If you use this as an entry or exit technique, we strongly recommend that you add some slippage into the trade during historical testing.

You must first select the specific weekday for entering or exiting the trade, then you must select the open or close for entering or exiting the trade.

Note: If you choose open and there is no open quote available for the trade, Investigator will use the average value of the bar’s range as the open. For example, if there is no open quote and the high for the bar is 15 and the low of the bar is 14, the opening quote would be considered as 14.5.
