The historical testing dialog box shows you which file is currently being tested, how many systems have been found, and how much time has elapsed since testing began. Note: if you have changed the status of a particular directory so it is not included in the test runs, the files in that directory will not be searched for systems. See the Changing Data Type and Directory Information help section.
If you wish to see the current statistics on the system at any time during a test run, you can click the Quick Check button to bring up the Historical Test Results dialog box. While you are reviewing the current statistics, testing will continue in the background.
When you test a system, Investigator starts a separate thread for the test. You can think of this as running a separate program. You have the option of changing the priority for the thread. For example, you can make it the most or least important thread (or process) running on your computer by selecting the appropriate process level.
You also have the ability to pause testing if you want to temporarily use your computer for another use.
Once testing concludes, you will progress to the Historical Test Results dialog box.
