Trades List Overview

The trades menu options keep track of the trades that you are actively trading. Once a trade is on your trades list, Investigator will check this trade for stop and exit conditions, as well as inform you of the current profitability of the trade. Before reading this section, you should be thoroughly familiar with the system library test help section.

A trade will typically be added to the trades list at the end of a system library test. You can optionally also add files to the list yourself. Once you have added the file to the list, it is extremely important to edit the properties associated with the trade. For example, you will need to inform Investigator as to the entry price and the number of shares with which you entered the trade, as Investigator cannot guess this information. You also need to confirm the entry date of the trade.

Investigator will then track these trades every time you run a system library test to see if the associated system’s stop or exit conditions have been met, and you will be informed of the appropriate actions you should take.

Once you have exited the trade you can delete the trade from your trades list.
