TradeWindow

TradeWindow takes you sequentially through the trades discovered during historical testing. It starts at the first trade and will continue through all the trades that are logged. If you wish to view a specific trade towards the end of your historical trade list, you should use the View Log Of Historical Trades feature.

To start TradeWindow, select TradeWindow - View Historical Trades from the Systems menu.

The first trade found during testing appears along with the TradeWindow dialog box.

The chart window that is displayed has a green arrow showing where the entry point of the trade is and a red arrow showing where the exit point of the trade is. These arrows will point up or down depending on whether the trade was a long or short trade. For example, if the trade was a long trade, the green arrow will point up and the red arrow will point down. If the trade was a short trade, the green arrow will point down and the red arrow will point up.

The chart will also display all of the indicators associated with the system. If you have the same indictor on both your entry and exit conditions, just the entry condition indicator will be shown. If you wish the see the exit condition indicator, you can use the Show Just Entry / Exit Conditions feature.

The chart has the full functionality of any regular chart, For example, you can add indicators, zoom in, etc. There is only one difference between a TradeWindow chart and a regular chart: to close a TradeWindow you must click the Cancel button in the TradeWindow dialog box.

To see the next trade, click OK in the TradeWindow dialog box. You can continue cycling through the historical trades by clicking OK until you’ve finished viewing all of the logged trades, or you can stop viewing the trades by clicking Cancel.

The TradeWindow dialog box is what is called a floating dialog box. You can move this box anywhere you want by clicking on the title bar and dragging the box to the desired location. This dialog box displays:

The entry price of the trade.

The exit price of the trade.

The monetary amount of profit (without commissions).

The percent amount of profit (without commissions).

The number of trading days for the trade.

As a reminder, if you forget the system associated with the trade, you can always view it by using the Recall System feature.
